Complain or Rise Up Into Something Better? Your Choice!

Each day this month, I’ve offered you 4 gifts: 1 image, 1 quote, 1 idea, and 1 thing you might want to try. This has been a new venture for me; just playing with new ways of being with you.

My hope is that some of these musings have been inspirational, encouraging, and perhaps even given you a few new ideas. :)

Sending out a special thank you to all of you who’ve shared this with friends, taken the time to write me, and do all that you do to make the world a better place.

Here is your 11:11 for today.

ONE QUOTE

Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make, makes you.
― John C. Maxwell (b. 1947) American author, speaker, leadership expert

ONE IDEA

So, we have come to the end of April, and the world still feels slightly off it’s axis. People are struggling around the world as we all find our way through the illness that has swept our communities, our businesses and our homes.

As our leaders try on different strategies for managing it all, no one really knows what is best. In my view, whether or not I agree with their decisions, they’re doing the best that they know how to do in a situation none of us have ever dealt with before.

So I try to give them as much grace as I can.

It would be easy right now – and often – to think that our fate lies in the hands of others, or in circumstances beyond our control. But that’s not true.

We have a choice, always, about how we respond to any situation we find ourselves in. We can drop down into complaining and bitterness, or we can rise up into something better.

I know which one I will choose.

How about you?

ONE THING to TRY

Choose consciously.

Choose to turn off the news and turn on some music.
Choose to learn something new that will grow your skills, help your business, or strengthen your relationships.
Choose to tell someone you love them.
Choose to forgive someone who’s disappointed you.
Choose to read a real book.
Choose to send someone a real, handwritten, letter.
Choose to map out the course content you’ve been putting off.
Choose to make your first video or do your first Facebook Live.
Choose to sit on the floor and play with your dog, or do a little yoga.
Choose to believe in the world, to believe in the human race.
Choose to believe in yourself.

And be well,

P.S. Energy requires action. And action creates energy.
